How it all began

Ralph and I have been together since the summer of 2008 but it all began in 1992. Ralph's sister, Colleen and I have been best friends since 6th grade and we grew up at each other's houses throughout the years. Ralph was always around but being the younger brother was forbidden to be around us (not that he wanted to make up dances with us). We said hi during high school and when I needed a jersey to wear to school on Fridays, Ralph was nice enough to let me wear his. He visited Kent State while I was there once to look at the football team and campus but decided against attending. He joined the Marine Corps and we spoke through emails every now and then just to see how the other was doing. Life went on and our paths finally crossed again in 2008 when Colleen invited me to their families yearly 4th of July party. Ralph was home on leave from Iraq and I just moved back to Cincinnati. This time when we saw each other things seemed a little different and the rest is history. In December 2011 we were engaged, July 2012 we were married, April 2013 we bought our first house and March 2014 we had our first child, Braxten! Each year has been more blessed than the last and we are so excited to see where our future takes us!

Loving friends and family

We are so blessed to have such wonderful family and friends around us that love our kids almost as much as we do. Ralph got sick today and I was away with family at the Sauerkraut festival. With a few quick phone calls we had Peyton, Ralph Sr and Katie at the house to help watch Braxten. It was truly heart warming that they would be willing to help without warning. Katie ended up with him most of the day and they had so much fun! She snapped this picture giving us a glimpse of his future, running the offense. Thank you so much for all of your help, we love you all!!!

Triple Trouble

Random cousin night Oct 9, 2015! Zoe had a football game to cheer for and the boys were able to hang out with us! It was so much fun! These three are going to be some serious trouble though. They all loved playing outside with trucks and cars. They got along SO well and played like the best of friends! It was such a great night, I am not sure why we don't do it more often but think it will start happening. We are exhausted and realize just how much more work it would be to have more kids and are set in our decision that 2 is perfect and we can add a few more cousins for a reminder!

Braxten's 2nd hair cut!

HAIR CUT TIME

B did so much better this time around! Not sure if it was the because of the cool car he sat in or the bus they had on the TV but he didn't cry, scream or move too much! He did great! He no longer has a mullet but now looks like a cute little boy. You are growing up to fast B, please slow down!!!

Kane is 5 months old!

Kane is 5 months old!

Our sweet baby girl is already 5 months old! Time has been flying as she is getting so much bigger in size and personality! She is so happy although if you are a stranger you would never know it. She keeps her straight poker face on when we are near new people. Kane is now...

  • 15lb 4oz (on our scale at home)
  • becoming a brown eyed girl - still flecks of green and blue
  • smiling whenever a familiar face talks to her (it takes very little time to break her shell)
  • talking loudly, without looking at her it isn't obvious if she is happy or mad - normally happy
  • wearing 6 month clothes and filling them well
  • has rolls upon rolls that we LOVE!
  • sleeps at least 12 hours a night if not 13
  • naps like a champ! She 2-3 great naps a day and sometimes a quick cat nap at night
  • is finding her hands and thinks they are fascinating
  • is playing with her feet
  • is working on sitting up but leans pretty far forward, she still loves to stand
  • smiles and laughs at Braxten like he is the best thing on earth
  • she giggles and gets overly excited to see her Daddy - its adorable!
Kane, we love you more than you will ever know! Thank you for the joy you bring into our lives each and every day. We are so thankful that you are such a healthy happy ball of smiles and laughter.
You are one amazing little girl! We love you!

Kane and Braxten in Scarlet and Gray

Ohio State Photos

A Year and a Half

Braxten is 1.5 years old!

We have a baby boy that is 1.5 years old!!! He is so full of energy and life that we almost can't keep up. He is so sweet 99% of the time and has a slight temper when he is tired and isn't getting his way. His personality is in full swing and we love every second of it. We, of course, think he is the smartest little boy around (as every parent does) and can actually see him learning every day. He loves to figure out how and why things work, interested in the bolts and screws that hold things together, the hinges that allow doors to open, the handles and wheels of toys and cars. If we show him something once he is instantly trying to do it himself. He is a curious little man that loves to explore. He would stay outside all day long if possible and has learned to get his shoes and our shoes to start, grabs one of our fingers and drags us to one of the doors any time we are inside. He is a climber, a jumper, a runner and a spinner that exhausts himself by the end of the day and crashes each night as he hits the mattress of his crib. Braxten loves his stuffed animals, throwing balls, being chased and his laugh is contagious. There isn't a day that goes by that we don't wonder how we got so lucky to be his parents.  We love you little buddy, thank you for all the love, joy and laughter you have brought into our lives.

Braxten is growing up

Braxten no longer wants us to hold him and rock him before putting him to bed. It makes us sad that is he officially growing up. He is still a sweet boy giving hugs and kisses and randomly laying his head on out shoulders filling our hearts with love and joy.
We can't believe that he is a few days away from 1.5 years old!!!
