How it all began

Ralph and I have been together since the summer of 2008 but it all began in 1992. Ralph's sister, Colleen and I have been best friends since 6th grade and we grew up at each other's houses throughout the years. Ralph was always around but being the younger brother was forbidden to be around us (not that he wanted to make up dances with us). We said hi during high school and when I needed a jersey to wear to school on Fridays, Ralph was nice enough to let me wear his. He visited Kent State while I was there once to look at the football team and campus but decided against attending. He joined the Marine Corps and we spoke through emails every now and then just to see how the other was doing. Life went on and our paths finally crossed again in 2008 when Colleen invited me to their families yearly 4th of July party. Ralph was home on leave from Iraq and I just moved back to Cincinnati. This time when we saw each other things seemed a little different and the rest is history. In December 2011 we were engaged, July 2012 we were married, April 2013 we bought our first house and March 2014 we had our first child, Braxten! Each year has been more blessed than the last and we are so excited to see where our future takes us!

Just a fun evening

So I came home from work, kiddos were in bed and Ralph was off work so we decided to play some card games. It felt like we were kids hanging out and laughing until way too late. We also took some pretty amazing pictures to remember the night. Normal happy, Ralph being odd, me trying to frown and then big eyes like B does. It really was a fun night in!

Silly fun with Missi

What a fun day with Missi! Who knew that page marker stickers could be so much fun! Our house is full of fun, laughter and love! Creating memories one day at a time starting with funny stickers and finishing with watching videos on Missi's phone. I cannot stress enough how thankful we are to be living so close to grandparents and having them be a huge part of our kiddos lives.
Moments like these will last a lifetime (for B and Missi)!

Jan 15th

Another day with the Hodges - Kane woke up with a smile on all fours although she is still not crawling yet. B has been working hard with his fork and spoon and is very proud of himself with we cheer for his eating success. Kane also likes to sit in B's chair. She tries to stand up out of it, she is strong enough but once her legs push she has no balance.
We are hoping she crawls before she walks, we will see!

B's work bench

Popo came over to help B put together his Home Depot tool bench tonight and it instantly became a favorite toy! They worked hard together to make it right, B handed Popo tools and parts, used his new tools to help screw, hammer and drill the pieces, and take Popos screwdriver when he wasn't looking - so helpful! Once it was together it went into the playroom, one by one B took everyone's hand and led them into the room so we could watch him play. He loves the drill and screwdriver. We never noticed how many of his toys were "broken" but thankfully B fixes all of them. Meanwhile, Kane just ate her dolls head - such a great Momma.

Jan 10th - Siblings getting along

Another day that Braxten wanted to entertain Kane. He was laying his head on her lap so she could pull his hair and pat his head, she giggled and loved it. I asked him to get a toy for her and he brought any toy he could find, big and small to surround her. We are enjoying these times they get along
B really is an amazing big brother!

Happy Birthday Missi!!!

Happy Birthday Missi!!! We loved spending the morning and evening with you!!! The day didn't go perfectly to plan but we made it work. Breakfast with Missi for her birthday, our present was delivered so the boys were able to put it together for her and then the kiddos crashed. We went home before we celebrated with cupcakes so we went back in the evening, no one should celebrate a birthday without singing and cupcakes! It ended up being a great two part day. Happy birthday to the most loving, caring and selfless person in the world! We love you more than you imagine!
